Sliding Automatic Doors

We service all makes and models of automatic sliding doors. Our favorites to sell are the new Besam Automatics. They are highly reliable and very well built. They make both a low energy handicap gate unit and full sliders. Contact us for specifications on automatic sliding glass doors.

Our sliding automatic door introduction begins with one important thing to remember when choosing your automatic sliding door-safety first. You should be prepared to make your daily safety inspections as part of your regular routine. You should also spend the money on yearly safety inspections performed by a certified AAADM.(American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers) This is important for any future liabilities you may encounter from an accident that may occur on your property. Also have all your work performed by a certified inspector.

There are several good automatic sliding door manufacturers. This includes the Besam Automatic Entrance System, Record (KM Systems) Horton Automatics and Stanley Access Technologies. These have been reliable and are brand name automatic openers. A couple of good manufacturers that make the sensor equipment include B.E.A. and Optex Technologies.

There are a few companies that make other systems including Low Energy Operators, otherwise referred to as LEOs, but they are swinging doors. Most automatic door manufacturers make up the standards that are set forth by the American National Standards Institute, (ANSI) by what is referred to as ANSI standards. These standards are developed and updated on a continuing basis to keep the industry safety standards in step with emerging technologies.

There are other considerations to be met, such as ADA (American Disabilities Act) The ADA requirements are covered more fully in the American Disabilities Act website. Another important consideration is the NFPA, (National Fire Prevention Act) which are primarily codes that are written for fire safety. Fire safety codes are all that stand between the safety of the public and doing the job the cheapest way mentality that is prevalent in the Building Industry. These guidelines are essentially updated to prevent fatal catastrophes from occurring.

If you remember any of the “club fires” or watched hundreds die in horrible apartment building fires, you can understand the need for these to be continually updated. There is a gigantic book for these that would take forever to read, but if you want a cure for insomnia, we have provided a link to their website as well.
